Julie Goodyear had a distinctive look that set her apart from her peers. Yes, her beehive hairstyle and leopard-print clad role of Bet Lynch in Coronation Street has made it one of the most iconic characters ever. The success of the role can be vouched from the fact that the character was impersonated by Freddie Mercury in the music video, I Want To Break Free.
The award-winning actress has consistently impressed everyone with her barmaid-turned-landlady Bet Gilroy, on the show Coronation Street. After quitting the show in 1995 she came back on the Coronation Street – After Hours, in 1999.
Her first appearance on the show was in 1966. She reprised her role in the show in 2002 but left it because of the extensive shooting schedule that was impacting her personal life. She sometimes makes appearances in shows, such as Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity Fit Club.
