Ever heard of the term, “Jazzercise”? Well, fitness star Judi Sheppard Missett is the pioneer behind this workout style and actually even founded a company of the same name in 1969.
If you didn’t know, Jazzercise is a type of full-body workout that incorporates dancing and strength and resistance training, and all this with high-energy popular music blaring loudly in the background to keep you pumped up and motivated.
The idea came to her back when she was still teaching dance lessons for women. She wanted her students to not only learn how to dance but also have fun and focus on their fitness at the same time. She decided to change her usual dance lessons and came up with Jazzercise which then being a big hit.
