Nancy Kerrigan – Then
Olympian Nancy Kerrigan was the crowd favorite at the 1994 U.S. Nationals. She went head to head against Baiul, another prominent figure skater. In the end, Baiul emerged victorious.
But this didn’t deter her from trying and being better in the sport that she truly loves. In fact, she was so excellent that she received the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame. However, the ice princess experienced a great deal of hardship.
In 1994, on the eve of her U.S. figure skating competition, Kerrigan was attacked with a metal baton to her leg. Luckily, she recovered from the injury and was able to compete in the U.S. Nationals. That just goes to show what a strong-willed woman she is!
